Dragon Medical Enterprise Network Edition

Dragon Medical Enterprise Network Edition is designed exclusively for hospitals and practices of 25 or more physicians that use Epic EpicCare, Allscripts Enterprise, Cerner PowerNote, GE Centricity EMR, NextGen Ambulatory EHR and other Citrix-based clinical systems. It improves the physician dictation experience substantially, and offers IT departments powerful new tools for managing large-scale Dragon Medical environments.

Support for Citrix-based EHR environments: vSync, a new technology from Nuance, creates a superior dictation experience for physicians using Centricity in a Citrix environment, allowing them to switch seamlessly between dictation and other input methods as needed, correct dictated notes via voice commands and more.

Centralized enterprise management tools: With the new server-based management console, IT departments can administer Dragon Medical as an enterprise IT tool alongside the EHR.

Continuous, automated updates: NuanceLink™ updates content on the Nuance Management Console server via a connection to the Nuance update server. With one click, administrators can push to users updates such as vocabulary changes and new macro, medication, diagnoses and disease lists.

Easy access Secure user logins and passwords and support for IT-configured Active Directory and single sign-on to speed the dictation process.

Central user profile management: Individual Dragon Medical users’ profiles can now be managed centrally. The new Language Model/Acoustic Model Optimizer runs offline while physicians are using Dragon Medical, ramping accuracy across your enterprise much faster.

Dragon Medical Enterprise Network Edition Client is installed on each local client laptop or desktop. The Network Edition has several features that are specifically designed for large user groups. The main components are the Nuance Management Console (NMC) and vSync. The NMC is a server-based application that is connected to all Dragon Medical clients. This provides for the centralized management of Dragon Medical users across the entire organization including assignment of licenses, distributing commands, and managing individual user settings. User profiles are now created, managed, and safely stored centrally, backing up profile data. NuanceLink™ is a continuous link between the Nuance Update Server and the NMC that provides updates to vocabularies, macro lists, medication lists, diagnoses lists, and disease lists. The NMC can also manage the operation of the "Profile Optimizer", which improves and maintains the health and accuracy of the voice file. This can now run regardless of whether the voice file is in use or not. Additionally, users now login to Dragon, meeting HIPAA standards.
